Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information OnlineProtractors.com ("we", "us") collects when you use this website, and how it is used. The short version: our tools run in your browser, and we do not collect your measurements, photos or camera images.

Information processed on your device only

• Photos and images you open in the photo tool or place under the protractor are read by your browser and never uploaded to our servers or anyone else's.
• Camera video used by the protractor camera is displayed on your screen only. It is not recorded or transmitted. Snapshots are saved to your device only when you choose to download them.
• Motion sensor readings used by the angle finder are processed on your device and are not stored or transmitted.

Information stored in your browser (localStorage)

We use your browser's local storage to remember a few settings on your device, for example:

• your light/dark theme choice,
• protractor preferences (180°/360° mode, snapping, precision and units),
• your screen calibration (pixels per inch).

This data never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for onlineprotractors.com.

Offline support (service worker)

To make the tools work offline, your browser stores copies of our pages and scripts in its cache. This cache contains only our website files, not your data.

Server logs and hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Analytics

We do not currently use analytics. If we add them in the future, we intend to use a privacy-friendly, cookie-free service (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that does not track you across websites, and we will update this policy.

Advertising

We do not currently show ads. We may show ads in the future (for example through Google AdSense) to keep the tools free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Ads are never placed inside our tools.

Affiliate links

Some pages may recommend products with links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click such a link, Amazon may set cookies according to its own privacy policy. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored.

Children's privacy

Our tools are suitable for students and do not require any personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If advertising is enabled, we request non-personalized ads where required.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal information through our tools, there is usually nothing for us to access or delete. Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EU/UK under the GDPR) you may have rights regarding personal data held by third parties such as our hosting or advertising partners; you can exercise them with those providers or contact us for help.
